Kitzsteinhorn
The only glacier of the Salzburg provence, the Kitzsteinhorn is situated here. The number one, all year round glacier ski experience surrounded by the highest peaks in Austria. Experience the fantastic views at 3029 meter from the Panoramaplatform 'Top of Salzburg'.
Hochgebirgsstauseen
The storage reservoir at 2000 meter, the Hochgebirgsstauseen Kaprun. Next to the spectacular views, there is a guided tour on the electricity generation.
Sigmund-Thun-Klamm
The Sigmund-Thun-Klamm is only 3 km from the chalet. Here you can walk through the gorge and around the lake. Tip: try the trout in the typical Austrian “stube”.
Kaprun centre
Also the evenings in Kaprun (village) and Zell am See (city) are full of opportunities. Enjoy the sounds, foods and drinks, and views.
Swimming/relaxation/spa
From the Chalet you can see and easily reach a modern wellness centre: Tauern Spa. This spa offers relaxation as well as swimming pleasure for the kids.
Culture
If you like culture, visit one of the many museums in the immediate surroundings or the more than 600 year old “Burg” of Kaprun, which still has the atmosphere and charm of the Middle Ages.
The Lake
The lake in Zell am See offers boat trips in summer as well as watersports adventures: sailing, surfing, canoeing, stand up paddling (sup), you name it…..
Maisiflitzer Alpine Coaster
And for even the more adventurous, try out the Maisiflitzer Alpine Coaster: the Alpine rollercoaster or tonoggan run of more than 1 km and velocities up to 40 km/hr.
Cycling / mountain biking
Mountain biking is very popular in the Kaprun area.You can take a number of mountain bike routes from the chalet. GPS maps are also available for enthusiasts.There are shops to rent bikes of all sorts.
You can go downhill mountain biking on the Kitzsteinhorn. An experience that you can undertake alone or with a guide. For mountain bikers there are freeride trails with a total length of 12 kilometers and 1,500 vertical meters !! For Uphill mountain bikers there is the beautiful "Astenweg trail" that goes over the Maiskogel to Langwiedboden on the Kitzsteinhorn. The lift tickets are also valid for mountain bikers.
For the well trained racebikers there is the challenging climb to the Gross Glockner.
